I despise shopping. Especially for shoes. However, when it comes to getting a new Bible I can spend hours perusing online or my favorite Christian book shop. If you are in the market for a new Bible, here are a few of what I consider to be the best Bibles for women.

As followers of Christ, it’s important that we spend time in God’s Word each day.

“Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:31-32

God’s Word is our supreme source of truth. It is where we find strength, peace, comfort, joy, and life. Your personal Bible is an important tool in nurturing your relationship with the Lord.

The Best Version of the Bible for You to Use

When you start looking for a new bible, one of the most important things you want to consider is what version you want to use. There are tons to choose from. Depending on what you will be using your Bible for will depend on which version you choose.

If you are looking for a Bible for just reading, there are a couple of versions that read easier than others.

  • New Living Translation
  • Holman Chrisitan Standard
  • English Standard Version
  • New International Version

If you are looking for a Bible to use for Bible study, then I would recommend you go for a word-for-word translation. These versions aim to stick as closely as possible to the wording and grammatical structure of the original text.

  • New King James Version
  • New American Standard Version
  • English Standard Version

I, personally, have used the New American Standard Version for many years. I have more recently started using the English Standard Version and am enjoying this version as well.

Women’s Study Bible or Devotional Bible?

Another thing to consider is what you will be using your new Bible for. Do you want a Bible that includes devotional notes, prayers, and commentary? Or would you prefer a study Bible for women?

I, personally, like my study Bibles to not include additional notes and commentaries. I like to allow the Holy Spirit to guide me in my own diligent study before I refer to others’ thoughts.
