Ephesians Bible Study (Free Printable Study Guide)

What does it mean that we have been made one with Christ? In this Ephesians Bible Study, you will explore the beautiful meaning of our unity with Jesus.

Paul knew that the believers in Ephesus would be coming against some intense spiritual battle. His letter encourages them to remember and walk in the new identity they had been given in Christ.

Paul’s message to the Ephesians holds as much weight for us today as it did for these believers back then. The battle is still raging! Understanding who we are in Christ enables us to stand firm against our spiritual enemy.

Summary of Ephesians

The whole book of Ephesians

Ephesians Chapter 1

In Ephesians chapter 1, Paul explains the spiritual blessings that we have been given in Christ. He prays that the Holy Spirit would help the believers to understand the significance of all that they have been given in Christ.

Summary of Ephesians 1

Ephesians Chapter 2

In the second chapter of Ephesians, we see Paul compare their former life to who they had become in Christ.

He also discussed the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith and how the Gentiles have been included in the commonwealth of God’s chosen people.

Summary of Ephesians 2

Ephesians Chapter 3

Paul begins chapter 3 with the intention of praying for these believers. However, he takes a brief pause to elaborate on the details and purpose of the mystery in Christ. He goes into what the mystery is, exactly, and the role that we, as the church, have in revealing this mystery to the rulers and authorities in heavenly places.

Summary of Ephesians 3

Ephesians Chapter 4

In chapter 4, Paul begins to discuss all that it means to be a child of God. Did God save us just so we can one day enjoy eternity with Him? Or does His plan for the body of believers involve something more?

As we continue to study through this book and walk through Ephesians 4 we will see, in increasing detail, how we, as His adopted children, are to live.

Summary of Ephesians 4

Ephesians Chapter 5

We saw that Ephesians chapters 1-3 were all about what God has done and what we have been given through Christ. Beginning in chapter 4, Paul encouraged the believers in Ephesus to walk worthy of their calling.

In Ephesians chapter 5, Paul continues to instruct the church on how they are to walk in a worthy manner. As believers we are to walk in love, walk in light, and walk in wisdom

Summary of Ephesians 5

Ephesians Chapter 6

Paul has spent much of the final portion of this letter describing what it looks like to walk worthy of our calling.

This final chapter is broken up into two main sections. Paul begins by completing his instructions to the church on how they are to walk in a worthy manner. Then, he moves into the importance of wearing the full armor of God.
