The Bible tells us “Greater is He who is in you”. Such a comforting thought, isn’t it? But, what does it mean?
A wise person once said that our actions prove what we believe. If we really believed the meaning behind this concept I’m convinced our lives would look much different.
Imagine what our days would look like if we truly believed that the greatest power existing in both the natural and heavenly realms exists within us.

Before we can apply this verse to our lives we must first gain a correct understanding of it. Proper application can only be attained through the lens of correct interpretation. So let’s take a look at this verse in the Bible.
you are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. – 1 John 4:4 NASB

You Are From God
This phrase reminds us of our identity as children of God. We are not alone in this world. We are deeply connected to the divine source of all power and love. Our victory is not grounded in our own might but in the supremacy of the One who dwells within us. Not only does Christ dwell in us through the Holy Spirit, but we also learn in Ephesians 2:6 that we are seated in Christ in the heavenly places. Christ is seated above all other rules and authority. Therefore, through the Spirit we have been given authority over the other spirits in the world.
